about me

Photo 27

I’m Josh Linton, husband to Ashley and father to Jarret, Avery and Jaxon. We are a tad crazy. We don’t like yelling so when somebody yells, we yell at them to stop. Each of us is burdened with intense passion and sometimes this causes a scene at Wal-Mart or in the driveway before school. But we’ve had people over to the house and they’ve come back after that so we’re not terribly “out there” I suppose. Here’s the thing. Though at times we display negative expressions of passion, we also channel it into some positive things, occasionally. We’ve been guilty of getting a bit carried away with love and hospitality too. My kids like to hug… the younger ones haven’t discovered that’s not a universal feeling.

I enjoy watching sports, studying art, listening to music (if it’s uncomfortably honest or written by the people singing it), drinking black coffee, camping, hiking, cooking out and hanging with friends. My theological interests range far and wide… right now I’m interested in the philosophy and psychology of religion, the intersection of culture and faith and anything I can do to sound smart when I talk about it. I like to read Doug Young, Scot McKnight, N.T. Wright, Peter Rollins, Dostoevsky and Richard Beck’s blog. I have a long wish list at Amazon (go buy me a book).

I’m glad that you’ve stopped in and hope that you’ll jump into the conversations.
